Coaching moves continue to be the theme of New York’s summer season. Knicks assistant coaches Andy Greer, Dice Yoshimoto, Daniel Brady, Othella Harrington and Nick Thibodeau will not return to the Knicks coaching staff for the 2025-26 season, per The New York Post.
The front office and newly hired head coach Mike Brown are expected to collaborate to build a new coaching staff that better suits Brown’s system.
Certain key names from former head coach Tom Thibodeau’s staff are expected to remain with the team, such as Rick Brunson, Jalen Brunson’s father, and former NBA Champion Maurice Cheeks.
New York was recently granted permission by Minnesota to speak with Timberwolves Assistant, and former Knicks point guard, Pablo Prigioni, for a spot on the team’s staff. However, Prigioni decided to remain in Minnesota, citing family reasons, per Ian Begley.
So far, Brown’s staff consists of Jordan Brink, Ricardo Fois, Mark Bryant, Maurice Cheeks, Rick Brunson and Darren Erman.
Under Thibodeau, the New York Knicks made their first conference finals in 25 years. Regardless of who ends up filling out Brown’s staff, expectations will be as high as they have been in a long time at Madison Square Garden.
