    BY ALEJANDRO LOPEZ

Legendary Kansas head coach Bill Self was released from the hospital on Saturday after undergoing a heart procedure, Kansas University announced.

“I want to thank all the amazing doctors and nurses at LMH Health for the excellent care I received during my stay there,” Self said in a statement on Saturday. “I feel strong and am excited to be home. Our team has had a productive summer and look forward to our batteries being recharged and prepping for this upcoming season.”

Self underwent a procedure to insert two stents to treat blocked arteries and is expected to make a full recovery.

The Hall of Fame coach missed five games in the 2023 season with similar complications, including three games in the Big 12 Tournament and two in the NCAA Tournament.
