FIBA’s U19 World Cup saw many standout performances for some of the biggest names making their college debut next season. Two of those incoming freshmen will suit up for UConn next season.

Incoming UConn freshmen Jacob Furphy and Eric Reibe had standout performances at the FIBA U19 World Cup in Switzerland.

Furphy led the way for Team Australia, which finished with a 4-3 record, averaging 16.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, including a 24-point performance against Team USA.

Riebe was a key contributor on Team Germany, which went on to win silver at the event, averaging 15.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, including a 25-point performance in a win over Serbia.

Both players will suit up for the Huskies as members of an exciting recruiting class.
