  • Oklahoma star suffers major injury ahead of NBA Draft

    By ADAM ZAGORIA

Oklahoma senior forward Jalon Moore suffered a torn Achilles during an NBA workout ahead of Wednesday’s NBA Draft, ESPN reported.

The 6-foot-7 Moore, who averaged 15.9 points and 5.8 rebounds last season with the Sooners, suffered the injury during a workout in San Antonio and underwent successful surgery the following day, his agent Mike Silverman told ESPN. It was his 13th workout.

“We’re truly heartbroken for Jalon,” Silverman told ESPN. “It’s time to revamp the NBA pre-draft process. Flying around the country to perform intense competitive workouts exposes players to risk of major injuries. No other pro sports league puts their draft prospects in this position.”

Moore is ESPN’s No. 63-ranked draft prospect.
