Darrion Williams has withdrawn from the 2025 NBA Draft, according to multiple reports. Williams was testing both the NBA Draft and transfer portal waters, but will return to college for his fourth season and is one of the best players in the transfer portal.
Williams played one season at Nevada and just concluded his second season at Texas Tech, averaging 15.1 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game and 3.6 assists per game. He averaged 21 points per game in Texas Tech’s four NCAA tournament games before losing to Florida in the Elite Eight.
The 2024-25 season was the best of his career, earning First Team All-Big 12 honors while playing for one of the nation’s best teams.
Williams played high school basketball for the prestigious Bishop Gorman High School (NV) and is originally a native of Sacramento, CA. He is widely regarded as a top-3 transfer remaining in the transfer portal, alongside PJ Haggerty and RJ Luis Jr. The two leaders in Williams’ recruitment are believed to be Kansas and NC State.
