The reigning national champions have landed their next star guard.
Arkansas transfer Boogie Fland will play for Florida next season, Fland’s agent, Mike Miller, told ZAGSBLOG.
The news was first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 13.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game in his freshman season under John Calipari at Arkansas.
Fland had originally entered his name for consideration at the 2025 NBA Draft, but chose to withdraw his name in favor of going through the transfer portal to play his second season in college.
Since Fland announced his decision to remain in college, the Gators have been the heavy favorite to secure one of the best players still available in the transfer portal. The Bronx native is fresh off a visit to Florida this week before the team visits the White House Wednesday.
The defending champions will enter the next season as a potential Top-5 team after securing two of the most coveted guards in the transfer portal in Fland and Princeton transfer Xaivian Lee.
This was a fantastic recovery for head coach Todd Golden and his staff after losing the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, Walter Clayton Jr., to the NBA Draft.
