  • Kentucky’s Kerr Kriisa will miss rest of 2024-25 season

    By SAM LANCE

Kentucky will be without senior point guard Kerr Kriisa for the remainder of the season, head coach Mark Pope said in his press conference on Thursday.

Kriisa had surgery on his broken foot in December and last played for the Wildcats on Dec. 7 vs. Gonzaga. He was averaging 4.4 points and 3.8 assists per game before the injury. Kriisa was a key part of a nine man transfer class and was the backup point guard to Lamont Butler before he went down.

This is a big blow for Kentucky, who are already without star Jaxson Robinson for the season with a wrist injury.

Pope previously said Kriisa meets the requirements for a medical redshirt and he could return for a sixth season of college basketball next year.
